SMHEART is a project financed by the European Research Council (ERC) under the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation program (grant agreement N°101076351).
This project plans to revolutionize cardiac MRI with a fast, one-click, fully automated imaging pipeline for cardiology. This addresses current challenges of slow and complex MRI systems, aiming for a streamlined process that ensures patient comfort. The one-click approach captures a single, free-breathing 3D multiparametric volume of the entire heart, with artificial intelligence automating the extraction of cardiac tissue information. This promises enhanced patient care, facilitates broader MRI adoption in cardiology, and fosters a multiparametric approach for a deeper understanding of cardiovascular diseases. The project ultimately aims to establish robust, image-based strategies for personalized patient care, covering diagnosis, risk stratification, therapy selection, monitoring, and image-guided interventions.
